hOW TO USE LIFTING BEAM CLAMPS
- Have a careful check of your I beam, H beam or special beam, then check your lifting hoist which will be suspended on the lifting beam clamp. Any participate tools not applicable will lead invalid for whole operation.
- Check the lifting hoist or other structure which you are suspending to the beam clamp shackle, is assembled correctly, and has an proper weight load for either an extra beam or a hoisted load.
- Ensure that you have the right lifting beam clamp for your actual use. This is the maximum weight the clamp can safely lift, and it varies depending on the model and type of clamp. For example, if you are lifting a goods which is 2.1 Tonnes you will need to use at least a 3 Tonne beam clamp instead of a 2 tonne beam clamp. It is very dangerous to overload because overloading will bring a risk of lifting beam clamp break and cause a serious or fatal accidents.
- It's crucial to make sure that the beam is directly over the centre of gravity of the load, and to avoid any swinging or angles of the load. Lifting a load that is swinging or not perpendicular to the beam clamp may cause serious injury and impose health and safety risks to those involved.
- When take down from beam, you need to check if it have any damage and make sure you are handling and storing them correctly, and don't throw or drop your beam clamps to ground as this could damage them and render them unusable.
- Never replace the bolts on a beam clamp without consulting the supplier, this could lead to the wrong screw being fitted that could potentially cause an accident or damage your beam clamp.
- Do not sharply move or stop lifting loads, and do not strike or impact both lifting beam clamp and its lifting loads.
